The number of pleasure boats and yachts in Lebanon has increased tremendously in the last few years and is expected to further increase in the coming years. The situation is such that those looking to secure a berth at local marinas suffer from long waiting lists. As a result of this demand, a number of new marinas are set to open in the coming 2 years. 

For those who value their boats we have developed a very competitive insurance product providing the best protection. Clients can chose one of the following plans:

Third Party Liability: 

• The sum insured can exceed the value of the boat and can reach million dollars per boat
• Pollution Liability up to $100,000 is included 
• Liability towards passengers and water skiers is included
• Damage to your boat caused by uninsured vessels is covered (up to $10,000) 

Total Loss: 

• Provides the same benefits as Third Party Liability cover
• In addition, Total Loss covers the value of the boat in case of total loss due to collision, theft, fire or other eventualities

All Risk:

• Provides the same benefits as Third Party Liability
• Covers partial or total loss or damage to the boat, machinery and equipment due to collision, theft, fire or other eventualities
• Medical expenses of the passengers up to $5,000 per person are included
• The personal effects of those onboard the boat are covered
• Cover for the boat’s dingy is included
• Cover for trailer is included
• Any other desired cover not mentioned above can be negotiated

Premiums depend on numerous factors such as the type of boat insured, construction material, manufacturing year, maximum speed, value and the geographical area in which the boat is to be sailed. The Third Party Liability premium starts at $ 200,- per year, while the All Risk premium varies between 0.5% and 1.3% of the boat’s value.
